2017 Professional Tennis Staff and Middlesex Tennis Committee

Director of Tennis: Alan Bohane

Alan has been directing, teaching and coaching at respected country clubs throughout the Northeast and South Florida for more than 15 years. He grew up in South Florida where he was a top 5 ranked player throughout his junior career.  He was ranked as high as # 11 nationally in the Boys 18 & Unders and had junior victories over former world ATP #1 Andy Roddick and ATP #22 Mardy Fish. In 1999 he was recruited at the time by then #1 nationally ranked UCLA where he played his freshman year for the Bruins. He eventually transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he earned his bachelors while leading the Lions in both top singles and doubles positions. Alan is a USPTA - Elite level certified tennis professional and a l0 & Under certified professional. He is looking forward to the continuing expansion of the Middlsex Club tennis program with an outstanding staff and several new and exciting events! 

Head Tennis Professional: Dan Scheuler 

Returning for his second season at Middlesex, Dan recently wrapped up his third season at Solaris Racquet Club in Stamford, CT where he currently is the Winter Junior Director in addition to being the Director of Spring/Summer programs. Prior to Solaris Dan taught for 13 years at the New Canaan Racquet Club. He graduated from Drury University in Springfield, MO with a Business degree and played on their nationally ranked tennis team. Dan's previous positions include Van der Meer Tennis Center on Hilton Head Island, SC and the El Conquistador resort in Tuscan, AZ. When he is not at Solaris, Dan is studying the DMC Training System to become an expert in movement efficiency and how it applies to the tennis athlete. Dan was born and raised in Missouri. 


2017 Assistant Tennis Pros:

Marina Bohrer:  Originaly from Porto Alegre, Brazil- Marina played top singles and doubles positions at Michigan State where she was the all-time career leader in singles wins with 73. Marina graduated in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in supply chain management; as a Spartan she received the Spartan Academic Excellence Award, as well as the prestigious intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete Award. Marina recently finished up her second season as the graduate assistant coach at Southern Mississipp and has previosuly worked several summers at MSU Nike Tennis Camps. This will be Marina's second summer at the Middlesex Club. 

Julien Tan: Julien is originally from Grenoble, France, and will be graduating from the University of South Carolina Aiken in May, where he is a standout player, earning all-conference honors all four years while also playing number-one singles and doubles positions for the Pacers, attaining a top 20 national singles ranking. Julien was also a former teamate of Ronan Reberac, one of Middlesex's assistant professionals last summer. 

Ilya Kneppelhout: Rounding out the staff is Ilya Kneppelhout. He grew up in the Netherlands and played his junior tennis in his hometown of Woubrugge. Ilya is currently one of the top players at Wagner University in Staten Island where he is finishing up his junior year, majoring in international buisness.
